Origins of Saju
Saju (사주, 四柱) — literally 'four pillars' — is a branch of East Asian metaphysics (命理學, Myeongnihak) rooted in the 淵海子平 (Yuanhai Ziping), a classical text from the Song Dynasty (c. 1100 CE). Over 900 years, Korean masters refined it into a sophisticated analytical system distinct from Chinese BaZi or Japanese Shichū Suimei.
How Does Saju Work?
Your Saju chart is calculated from your exact birth date and time, mapped onto the traditional sexagenary cycle of 10 Heavenly Stems (天干) and 12 Earthly Branches (地支). Chinese BaZi tends to focus more on the interplay of the Ten Gods (十神).
